This visa is the immigrant equivalent of the L-1A nonimmigrant visa. It is available to executives and managers of international companies who are sent to work at their U.S. subsidiary.

The manager or executive, as well as the company(ies) for which he or she works and will work in the United States, must meet the same requirements as for an L-1A visa
Peculiarities:
It’s often believed that this visa is an investment visa (many people land on this website when searching for “EB 1C investment visa”), but that’s not entirely true. While it’s true that opening a company branch in the US specifically for one person’s immigration purposes could be considered an investment, it’s officially just a work visa, allowing companies to bring valuable executives to the US for permanent residence.
